Notes  Inherited farms from father. Sold much of the Street Farm for Railway Cottages, and with a Mrs. Bridges, sold land along which Station Road in Birchington now runs. The cottages eventually resulted in sewage steeping into the soils, and contaminating the Evergreen House well.

Edward was, as a young man, attacked by footpads when returning from Canterbury on horseback and told the story to the end of his life.

Attended King's School, Canterbury with his brothers.
